Steven Frumess and Badio are two artists from the University of Arizona and have made this chill summertime song titled “Summer Gain.” They had this song produced by J. Hearn, who “makes amazing samples,” and slowed down the guitar from the beginning of d.veloped also sampled but added all the drums and everything else on his protools. I’m dropping my debut album Fox Meadow Rd. most likely in August, which I have self-produced. I will most likely put “Summer Gain” on my debut mixtape that I will drop in the fall, since very different from the genre of music that is on my album, so I’m gonna hold this joint off for a mixtape that is more hip-hop oriented songs.

I’ll get to the gist of this and say that d.veloped outdoes himself on the mashups he has been creating. Primarily using vocals from Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino’s “Let Me Dope You,” d.veloped concocts a chill mix, featuring other samples from Weezer, Notorious B.I.G., John Legend, Phoenix, Adele, 50 Cent, Aloe Blacc, Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, as well as an instrumental from a very popular song from the 90′s. D.veloped raises the bar once again for mashup artists. D.veloped just released a new mix, but while I give you that new song, I’ll showcase one of his older songs “Swing 90s Anthem” which takes the acapella of Savage’s “Swing” and combines it with many classic instrumentals from songs from the 90′s. The next song “¿Where’s The Bass?” takes Dev’s vocals from The Cataracs’ “Bass Down Low,” mixes it with Usher, Ludacris, & Lil Jon’s vocals from “Yeah,” and more, making a a more mellow party song, as usual.

Wow. This is a hot one. D.veloped is goin crazy givin us some chill mashups/blends full of so much ear candy, including some of his own production sprinkled within. Much like his two previous mashups “Womb Raider (Frisky & Follish Edit)” and also “Son of a Nun,” D.veloped creates a fabulous track mixed with songs you would enjoy. He combines an instrumental compilation of Mighty Mighty Bosstones’ “The Impression That I Get,” Pharrell’s “Drop It Like Its Hot,” and J-Kwon’s “Tipsy,” as well as his entire redrum over the track. D.veloped’s latest creation, “Son Of A Nun,” hits in all the right places mixing together Oh Land’s “Son of a Gun” and editing it with some drums, and adding vocals from Nelly’s “Number 1,” Kanye West’s “Get ‘Em High,” and Young Buck’s “Shorty Wanna Ride.”

Creative Mashup

I’m not sure if you guys have noticed or not but when it comes to mashups it always seems to be the same thing, right? Like the same acapella or instrumental re-used and re-used until it can’t be used anymore. Well, for D.veloped that’s not a problem at all. Mashing Blink 182, Cudi, Marvin Gaye, Jay-Z, and Dragonette this track is anything but ordinary. Anyways, turn it up and enjoy it forsure! Oh… and if you couldn’t tell, go Bulls.

Real Solid Indie vs. Rap Mash-Up

For me, Dj D.veloped is a brand new DJ.. and with this showing I am glad I found out about him.  Taking one of my favorite indie songs, Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros (which is possibly one of the catchiest songs around) and mashes it up with ‘Bring Em Out’ by T.I. to make a great track.  Random snippits from Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Lil Jon are thrown in to make it a fuller track and dont forget about the nice Happy Gilmore quote at the start… ha… Enjoy!
